Adding friends...
I have been adding lot of people to my friends list (in case anyone was wondering!) Some are friends I didn't know had LJs, some are people I have been reading for ages, but never actually friended. It's a part of my new organised life which involves:

Putting the people on the friends list who I'd like on the friends list (a continuing project)

Doing the commenting thing, which I'm starting to enjoy.

Doing the feedback thing. This is something that has always made me feel guilty. I read a lot of excellent fic that I never respond to. Starting last week, I vowed to send a few brief emails a day either about fics I am currently reading, or stuff I read in the past that I loved. We all like getting the feedback but some of us are lazy-assed bitches about sending it. Well, I am anyway. Funnily this new drive seems to have coincided with Internation Feedback Week which seems to be happening right now!

I suppose it's about being a little more involved in this whole community that entertains me and makes me happy. And yay! I feel like a better person already!

Count me in as one of the lazy-assed bitches. ;) I love getting feedback of any kind, and yet there are so many fics and vids that I thought were brilliant and still haven't sent feedback on. *sigh* Guess I can't complain about lack of feedback until I get my own ass in gear, right? :D

It seems particularly bad amongst those of us who write - and know full well how good the feedback buzz can be (even just the little note that says 'read your fic and liked it.')I am resolved now! In fact, off to send some feedback!

I've been on a "Friending" binge myself too. I see an entry that makes me giggle, or makes me think, and I just go on and add 'em. Most of these people probably see my name and go, "Um, who is this freak and why did she friend me?"

On the feedback thing: I have a weird complex... I almost always leave feedback on stories I enjoy when it's in a public, message board kinda format. (Like ff.net, allaboutspike.com, or here at LJ.) But I hate leaving feedback thru email. For one thing, I never know if the author got the feedback, since most of them have 10MB of spam/flames/whatever to sift thru every day. Also? I feel like a stalker or something by writing personal email to people. I know, that's probably an unfounded fear, but still.

I do know what you mean about the emailing, but almost everyone I've ever mailed has sent back a grateful response. And I have been known myself to jump up and down like the small child I am at heart when I find nice things in my hotmail account instead of invitations to enlarge my penis! But I do find I freeze up when confronted with the sending of feedback.

What to say to the immensely talented people???

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to get better at my feedback and responses as well. Is there seriously a week of International Feedback? interesting.

I don't think it's actually called that, but Wisteria posted this yesterday, suggesting people leave public feedback in their LJs. It's a nice idea.
